It goes without saying that people’s life has dramatically changed for last decades. There are many reasons for this phenomenon but one of them is wide spreading of technology. Nowadays it has taken an important place in our working and personal routine. Technology has simplified the access to many necessary tools people need in education, industry, medicine, communication, transportation and etc.. Also it is necessary to mark that excessive usage of technology has drawbacks as well. Though the speed of fulfilling tasks accelerates with the help of technology, sometimes it has negative influences on society, and its considerable development has complicated life in a number of different ways.
According to the newest statistic data, the bestseller of the last years among portable devices is a smartphone. It is obviously mobile technology is developing rapidly. Fifteen-twenty years ago wireless phones were so expensive that only the well-off could afford to have them. Since mobile technology has not been being at a stop, smartphones have been becoming cheaper and cheaper and more and more available for people with a different level of income. As a result, almost every person has at least one smartphone. On the one hand, it has a ton of pros. For example, people are able to talk to their friends and relatives who are living far from them. As for work, managers can find solutions immediately thanks to this thing: it is like having a mini-office in a pocket: there are contacts, e-mails, a timetable, a notebook, a calendar and so on in one small plastic box. But on the other hand, users start forgetting how a chat with an eye contact and warm hugs can be charming. The next drawback of this issue is that workers have to be available 24 hours a day which does not allow them to relax properly.
As it is said previously, smartphones have huge popularity among customers. Researchers have figured out that the main purpose of this purchase is a constant access to the Internet. The consequence of technical evolution has become that today the Internet can be applied practically anytime and anywhere. As a result, our generation can get more accurate information faster on Google than going to a library or doing a research. Users do not want days or even extra hours for it. Without any doubt, on one hand, it gives brilliant opportunities for education system and self-development. But on the other hand, the process has a downside as well. For example, people pay more attention to the data which they read on the Internet than they did anywhere else, but sometimes this informations is absolutely unchecked and thereby readers can be confused. Hence, people must scroll down a massive inflow of information looking for something trustworthy and unique. As a result, it seems that time is saved without going to a library but nowadays it is clear at all.
Despite the fact that we cannot really ignore that there are a number of ways in which technology negatively impacts our society, for the better part it has greatly helped to make out lives better. Technology has greatly helped us to become more efficient thus increasing our productivity. It has also helped us a great deal to be able to save on many resources such as time and money and these are great benefits that cannot be missed. It has also worked well in bringing unity into the world by turning it into a global village which has in turn helped people to more easily overcome their cultural, racial and continental barriers.
